Our Projects

Our pipeline of development projects will be publicly announced over time as we consult with all key stakeholders at each project site. We are focused on selecting the best sites for both solar and wind development and working with the local communities to bring these projects to deliver long term sustainable benefits.

Clarke Creek Wind and Solar Farm - 1200 MW

Project Overview

The Clarke Creek Wind and Solar Farm project is located 150 km north west of Rockhampton and 150km south of Mackay and is located on the Broadsound Range approximately 50km inland.  Once constructed the project would be one of the largest green energy precincts in the southern hemisphere.  The 2 stage project project has received all the necessary State and Federal Government approvals to build:

  • up to 195 wind turbines with a power output over 800 MW,
  • up to 400 MW of solar power, and
  • battery energy storage.

Squadron Energy – the energy division of Tattarang –acquired both stages of the Clarke Creek wind, solar and battery farm in February 2022.

The project feasibility was started in 2016 and was completed with the acquisition by Squadron Energy in 2022.  Construction of Stage One will begin in March 2022.

Lacour Energy selected this project site after an extensive site identification study across Queensland.  The key features of this site are the strong wind speeds, particularly at night, and the high capacity powerlines which run parallel to the site.  Lacour initiated the development in 2016 and have undertaken feasibility studies over several years including: wind and solar resource assessments, environmental assessments, landowner agreements, network connection, layout design, development approval preparation, regulator consultation, community consultation, supplier networking, wind turbine selection, and investor identification and sale.
