Kondinin Wind and Solar Farm - 290MW
Project Overview
The project has received necessary Local, State and Federal Government approvals to construct:
- up to 46 wind turbines with a power output over 230 MW,
- around 60 MW of solar power, and
- battery energy storage.
The Kondinin Wind and Solar Farm project is located 250 km east of Perth, within close proximity of the Kondinin 220kV/132kV substation. Power produced by the project would flow to this substation and then into the Western Power network.
Lacour Energy selected this project site and initiated the development after an extensive site identification study across south-west Western Australia. Lacour have undertaken feasibility including: wind and solar resource assessments, environmental assessments, landowner agreements, network connection, layout design, development approval preparation, regulator consultation and community consultation.
This project originated by Lacour and now invested in by Shell Energy and Foresight Group, is in feasibility pre construction feasibility phase with work being undertaken on the technical, environmental, social and economic aspects of the project. It is anticipated construction of Stage 1 would begin in 2025.
